In 1986, excavations of Bronze Age mounds were carried out near the village of Proletarsky in the Krasnodar region. Several burials of late nomads have been discovered in these mounds. In the kurgan “Krivusha-4” the helmet is of the greatest interest. It consists of four segments welded together, reinforced in the upper part with four rectangular plates with rivets. The helmet was crowned with a broken top, separated from the base by a round “apple”. This burial belongs to a heavily armed Polovtsian soldier.
Most likely, the burial should be dated to the 30s of the 13th century, the time of the Mongol invasion of the Eastern European steppes.
