Rus / Nothern Rus / Novgorod
XI century
After the “classical / early” lamellars with sagging rows have been used for more-less enough time in Rus, they started being replaced by a new kind of armor where the scales were sewn to the base (leather or fabric tabard). That kind of mounting holded the scales stronger and that was much more difficult to cut the threads hidden beneath the small embossments that to chop the leather laces of lamellar. And the most progressive thing was that next scale hided the seams of the previous scale under its edge. This armor presents the very this sort of armor.
